even though this band was on my list as a midlevel pick for SXSW, we only saw
them by chance – but we were instantly enraptured – I couldn’t put my finger on
their magic until they went into a cover of The Stone Roses “I Wanna Be Adored”
– shoegazers! really good shoegazers! – bands’ characterizations of themselves
on MySpace are generally unreliable and ironic, i.e., annoying, but I almost
