Construction (Destruction?) Unit - Spiderhouse Main Outdoor Stage, SXSW, Austin TX - March 15, 2014

We saw this band from a distance. I heard Stooges, grunge, noise dissolve, fall apart and stay together. Rockboy kept hearing “Train Keeps a Rollin” and ultimately yelled me to that they needed to “play a goddamn song.” I suspect this band was Destruction Unit in disguise. Piece of evidence #1: Construction Unit does not exist as a band on the internet. #2: Searching for Construction Unit online led me to Destruction Unit which led me to a label (Goner Records) which turns out to be from Memphis and to mange Ty Segall (who was leading this Spiderhouse show), Destruction Unit, Digital Leather (associated with DU), Reatards (associated with DU), Ex-Cult (my top band from SX research), and Nobunny (one of my favorite shows from 2013 SX) (now I’m just telling you things that got me really excited). #3: Destruction Unit was all over SXSW this year and their names are clearly similar. #4: Rockboy hated them.
