NY] Power vocals (female with male backup) over cheerful rock pop.
Distinguished by a regular violin accompaniment. This band was so reminiscent of
somebody to me… maybe Ida Maria but more somebody I’ve known for longer (Meat
Purveyors? Ani Difranco?). Their fundamental upliftedness, and obvious
chemistry as a band, made me think of The Hidden Cameras but I’d never say they
sound like them. Technically, I really liked them – heartfully, I wasn’t
feeling them. I did think the lead singer was awesome, especially with her six-month
pregnant belly.
