The Shivas - The Know, Portland OR - April 22, 2017

[Portland, OR] This was a terrible day, despite the fact that it came after several months of terrible days. That morning, a very large man with a white trash bag shouldered me off the sidewalk intentionally and angry – messed me up... and boy stuff... So this band was really good but my head was only half there. They reminded me of Bleached, or what I imagine Bleached – shit, I just checked and my misperception of Bleached as garage-pop is a long-standing issue with me. Well, anyway, this band is garage pop, with a So Cal vibe. Some spaghetti western, some Dengue Fever, and some old rock n’ roll. Very pleasant. The girl doesn’t sing as well as the guy.
