[from Portland OR]: I was enthused by this band’s bio: dark surf rock. They were that, though the surf rock was few and far between – more spacey, shuffly, loungey,… But these aren’t bad things in my book - mostly, they came off as amateur. Just when I was coming around to thinking they were sort of unique and inventive, one of the band members said: “I won’t lie, I’m really hungover.” The crowd did not react. Because, amateur. Nobody cares. And nobody’s impressed. Maybe, with time, then can complexify and depthify. To their credit, they did remind me of a way more mellow gothic Bleached, and of Warpaint.
