Murderboat Productions - Bruce Campbell's plane, Hillsboro, OR - June 29, 2019

[from Portland OR] Charmed, utterly charmed. First, charmed at being on the Portland Weird Homes Tour. But this weird home was way out in the woods of Portland. I almost skipped it until I read up and realized this was the only weird home I actually needed to see. An electrical engineer who decided: best to drag a plane through the woods and transform it into a home … … Second, charmed that I managed to wiggle my Honda Civic up the hill and between trees … to where a full-sized airplane somehow also made it, to be inexplicably situated flat in the middle of the woods.
Third, charmed by Bruce Campbell. For the record, his blue eyes were so clear I could see into the back of his brain. But, I was moved when he touched my arm as he spoke to me. Sure, he did the same to every person he spoke to after me. Typical Burner move. In another vote for Bruce, he released the teen girl in fishnet stockings and a bathing suit who was locked in his bathroom. He explained it was just because, you know, how it’s set up. Fourth, charmmmmmed by the unexpected DJ on the wing of the plane and the crowd of adorable kids doing fascinating dance things. The scene was totally inconsistent with all of the other weird homes, in so many ways. And I especially enjoyed how the Weird Home Tour volunteers were stressing out, using their little walkie talkies to facilitate moving cars up through the trees, to facilitate moving cars back down through the trees, and to tell each other how fucked up it was that this had turned into a dance party. It turns out this was a DJ audition for future collaborations between Bruce and Murderboat Productions. I couldn't figure out which DJ I saw. Standout lyrics for ignorant me: “Everytime I come around yo city, Bling bling.”
